UIL competitions where sophia jaques won 2nd place, Frank ortiz 1st place and Little kinder hector won 2nd place in creative writing.

Hector, a kindergartner at Ramona STEM Academy, wrote a short imaginative story about a magical blue door covered in many eyes, with each eye holding a different small scene or memory; details that reveal how young writers use concrete images to make abstract ideas feel real. In the submitted photo, Hector stands beside his kinder teacher, Mrs. Tinajero, whose supportive presence highlights the classroom culture that encourages creativity and confidence in early writers; their teamwork and the school’s invitation to the YISD Fine Arts Department’s K–5 creative writing program show how schools can nurture voice by valuing student work, offering feedback, and connecting classroom projects to larger community opportunities.

Frank Ortiz won 1 st place in SS

Sophia Jaquez wond 2nd place and Mia Archuleta won 3rd place.
Congratulations to all our representatives and winners.
